Project Brief:
To design and install a new En-suite. Considering lighting & storage as a main factor in the refurbishment, also focusing on floor textures for practical reasons against a contrasting reflective material for surfaces.
Conclusion of project:
As an En-suite the existing space was not enormous, however creating a maximum impact design in a smaller than normal En-suite is not impossible.
Elevating brassware from the height of the bath and basin adds ease for cleaning, and gives a floating approach to the heavy solid chromium product.
An equal division of space between the three main utilities (bath, basin & wc) is of extreme importance as personal space for each unit is measured. Extending storage with height is brilliant! most items are then stored at eye level or above.
Aiming to keep the floor space as clean as possible all plumbing is concealed within tiled voids adding niches for decoration. This discreetly wall hung sanitary ware and storage, drops the finished floor level which allows a step to be created close to the bathing area.
Tiling and furniture determine the final illustration of the room, here mosaic has been used to separate the facilities adding variety of texture to the creation and a slip resistant surface to the step, which has again has been highlighted with small LEDs.
Polished tinted toughened safety glass is acting as a high reflective source on the vanity surface, this gels along side Villeroy & Boch’s Ceramic plus added glaze located on the wc and wash basin.
For versatility in lighting, atmospheric coloured lights are manufactured into the mirrored cabinet, this innovative component enables the client to shower or bathe in entire bliss,!! relaxing mind and soul via interchangeable colours.
On a closing point a “must have” is the soft closing wc seat and soft close touch furniture, taking noise to a minimum..
